PAG to Expand Operations in Australia

PAG, one of the Asia-Pacific region’s leading investment firms, announced the expansion of its operations in Australia & New Zealand with the hiring of Sid Khotkar as Managing Director.


Mr. Khotkar will join PAG after serving as a principal at TPG Capital and as an interim director in the private equity team at the A$200+ billion Future Fund. He will be based in Melbourne, where he will focus on private equity investments. Mr. Khotkar has worked closely with PAG since 2014, when the firm was a co-investor alongside TPG Capital in the global property services roll-up of DTZ, Cassidy Turley and Cushman & Wakefield. He will work closely with Tim Zee, Managing Director in PAG’s Singapore office, to cover the Australia and New Zealand market.


PAG has had a significant presence in Australia and New Zealand since 2010, investing in credit, real estate and private equity, with offices in Sydney and Melbourne. Recent investments in Australia include The Cheesecake Shop, Australia and New Zealand’s leading specialty cake retailer, and Craveable Brands, the operator of Red Rooster, Oporto and Chicken Treat. In November 2018, PAG completed raising its third Asia-Pacific buyout fund, PAG Asia III LP, with US$6 billion in capital commitments.

Mr. Khotkar joins PAG after working at Future Fund, where he was responsible for helping the A$200+ billion investor manage its private equity portfolio. Before joining Future Fund,Mr. Khotkar worked at TPG Capital for more than 10 years, most recently as a Principal with its Melbourne-based buyout team. In that role, he worked on a variety of deals including the global property services roll-up that created Cushman & Wakefield, and leading Australian electricity & natural gas provider Alinta Energy. Prior to joining TPG Capital, he worked at Goldman Sachs in the Investment Banking Division. Mr. Khotkar received a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Finance, Hons.) from the University of Melbourne and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
