Dec 15, 2023 – PAG, a leading APAC-focused alternative investment firm, is delighted to share that the firm has been selected as a Steering Committee Member of the ESG Data Convergence Initiative (“EDCI”).
The EDCI is an open partnership of private equity stakeholders committed to streamlining the private investment industry’s historically fragmented approach to collecting and reporting ESG data.
“The EDCI initiative is a starting point for us to standardize data reporting across our portfolio companies and help improve standards in our industry as a whole. It is the foundation of our ESG program at PAG Private Equity,” said Lincoln Pan, Partner and Co-head of PAG Private Equity.
“Participating in the EDCI allows us to set data-based targets for delivering ESG outcomes for our investors,” added Pan.
PAG takes an integrated, analytical approach to ESG issues to achieve positive impact on its investments and create sustainable, long-term value. Advocating for greater standardization, transparency and accountability improves ESG practices in our industry and helps PAG achieve its goals of maximizing returns for its investors while minimizing risk.
“PAG is a leading alternative investment manager based in the APAC region. Their leadership team has already represented the EDCI at a conference in Hong Kong and were highly engaged with the EDCI’s Private Credit working group,” said EDCI in its announcement.
EDCI seeks to overcome the disparate constellation of ESG performance assessment frameworks and tools in the private equity industry. The EDCI’s members include 375+ GPs and LPs representing ~$28 trillion in assets under management. The Steering Committee currently is comprised of eight Limited Partners and eight General Partners, co-chaired by CPP Investments and Carlyle.
